Week 7 MACJC Players Of The Week Announced

Congratulations to the following student-athletes on their selections as the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Players of the Week for the seventh week of the 2015 football season. These three athletes are now nominated for national honors by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
Offense: Wyatt Roberts – Sophomore – Quarterback – East Mississippi Roberts recorded his fourth 300-yard passing game of the season by connecting on 27-of-37 passes for a career-high 358 yards and two touchdowns (0 INT) during No. 6 EMCC’s 44-28 road victory over Holmes… Also added a 7-yard touchdown run against the Bulldogs… The sophomore signal-caller is nearing the 2,000-yard passing mark for the season with 20 touchdowns thrown and only one interception on the year.
VOTES: Roberts (EM) 7, Minshew (NW) 4. Defense: Marcus Loud – Sophomore – Lineman – Hinds Loud had 13 tackles (11 solo, 2 assist), 2 sacks, 3 tackles for loss and 1 blocked extra point in a win over Co-Lin.
VOTES: Loud (Hi) 10, Qualls (NW) 1. Special Teams: Patrick Ponder – Sophomore – Punter – Jones County Ponder, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound sophomore punter from Bay High School, had another remarkable game for the Bobcats. He kicked the ball eight times for a 46.6 average in JCJC’s 14-6 loss to East Central. Ponder had punts of 82 and 66 yards in the game. He leads the MACJC and is second in the NJCAA with a 43.5 yards per kick average.
