Following Saturday’s loss by Angelo State in the Division 2 NCAA football playoffs, just one game featuring a Lone Star Conference member is left on the 2014 schedule.
The Texas A&M Commerce Lions have accepted a bid to play in Saturday’s Heart of Texas Bowl against East Central University in Copperas Cove’s Bulldawg Stadium.
Posting an 8-3 regular season, the Lions earned the 11th postseason bid in program history, according to the school’s athletics Web site.
The Lions finished up last season playing in the Live United Texarkana Bowl. They are making consecutive postseason appearances for the first time since 1990 and 1991
A&M-Commerce, one of the biggest surprises in the Lone Star Conference this season, hit the eight-win mark for the first time since 2001.
East Central, part of the Great American Conference, finished the season at 6-4.
Kickoff for the game is set for 6 p.m
