Oswalt named to Heart of Texas Bowl Staff

COPPERAS COVE, TX– The CHAMPS Heart of Texas Bowl today announced securing the services of marketing director Ronald Oswalt.  Ronald will direct the marketing and arrange strategic partnerships for the bowl.  The bowl game is scheduled for December 5, 2015 this year at Bulldawg Stadium in Copperas Cove, Texas.

Oswalt brings extensive sports marketing experience to his new role and most recently served as Chief Operating Officer/Partner of the largest Texas high school football website at www.texashsfootball.com.

Oswalt has served as Vice-President/General Manager of the Austin Turfcats in the Southern Indoor Football League. He has also worked for the Katy Copperheads of the National Indoor Football League, Texas Copperheads of the arena football league 2, and the Beaumont Drillers of the American Professional Football League.

Oswalt has also worked as active media covering the New Orleans Saints, Houston Texans and the University of Southern Mississippi. He also has covered the Humanitarian Bowl, Liberty Bowl, Texas Bowl and Alamo Bowl for college football just to name a few.

Securing Marketing and Strategic Partnerships for the Heart of Texas Bowl, Oswalt will work closely with the bowl committee and will assist with the bowl day-to-day operations of the bowl game, including sales development, marketing, game operations and working with a local committee made up of sponsors and civic leaders. He will work directly with Bowl Director Vance McAnally in securing the teams and the participating conferences to ensure a positive and rewarding bowl experience for all participants.

Oswalt is a 1989 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in sports marketing management.

The Heart of Texas Bowl will feature two major bowl games each year in December at Bulldawg Stadium in Copperas Cove Texas. These highly prestigious bowls match two top junior colleges from the National Junior College Athletic Association with the second bowl game pitting two top four year schools from the National Collegiate Athletic Association Div. II, one of these from the Lone Star Conference playing another top national team.

A team from the NJCAA Texas region and the Lonestar Athletic Conference are guaranteed bids. Television and title sponsorship agreements will be announced at a later date.

Oswalt and the Heart of Texas Bowl staff will be based in Copperas Cove, Texas.
